Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her professional career working alongside prominent directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be in the month of March 2023, when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that brought you Hamilton. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit series B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits his time between Los Angeles.
